Jodie joined the team at Osteopathy on Canterbury & Complementary Therapies in 2018 after graduating with a Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Melbourne Institute of Massage and Myotherapy (MIMT). Since graduating, she has worked in multidisciplinary clinics throughout Melbourne, gaining invaluable clinical experience from some of Melbourne’s leading allied health practitioners and sports trainers.
Jodie’s career changed direction from a sedentary desk job some years ago when she visited a Myotherapist regarding her daughter’s health. She was so amazed and inspired at the immediate changes made, that she sought out how to enter into the world of musculoskeletal healthcare. This began her journey of enrolling in remedial massage therapy and she has enjoyed the transition into the health industry ever since.
Jodie is a nurturing and holistic therapist that brings with her a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping people towards better health. She prides herself on delivering high quality and tailored treatment to suit your requirements and strives to find a solution for your pain or discomfort. She really recognizes the importance of listening and understanding your condition, working with you as a team to achieve the right outcome. She uses a wide range of techniques in her treatments, including deep tissue, relaxation, sports and remedial massage with facilitated stretching, dry needling, cupping, soft tissue and joint mobilisation, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and muscle energy techniques. Furthermore, she provides advice on stretching and/or strengthening exercises, ergonomics and posture.
