Julia joined the team at Osteopathy on Canterbury in 2016 after completing her Certificate 4 at The Australian Institute of Applied Sciences in Melbourne followed by a Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy at Victoria University.
Over the period, Julia has acquired a broad range of experience, working both in Allied Health clinics throughout Melbourne as well as employment in the corporate sector. In 2016, she worked for the Western Bulldogs AFL team and the VFL men’s and women’s football teams as a Remedial Massage therapist. This was both a highly educational and rewarding process, where she gained invaluable knowledge about the musculoskeletal system, rehabilitation and injury management.
Julia has always been passionate about a career in the health industry. She is a caring and skilled therapist who enjoys working with people from all ages and backgrounds. She is dedicated to understanding the individual needs of each patient and developing a concise treatment plan to specifically address them. She integrates a wide range of soft tissue and joint techniques to relieve pain and help restore optimal function and wellbeing to her patients. These techniques include deep tissue massage, soft tissue manipulation, trigger point therapy, cupping, myofascial release and relaxation massage. Additionally, she provides advice on posture, ergonomics and home based stretching and/or strengthening exercises for optimal long term results.
In her spare time, Julia likes to keep fit and active and enjoys daily yoga. She loves music, movies and great food. She also enjoys travel and one of her favourite pastimes is Mountain biking, especially in the Victorian High Country.
