What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is a manual muscle therapy that involves the assessment and treatment of soft tissue injury. Myotherapy is applied in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of therapy in order to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the body.
A Myotherapist uses a wide range of techniques including:
- Soft tissue manipulation
- Deep tissue massage
- Myofascial release
- Trigger Point therapy
- Joint mobilisation
- Thermal therapy
Unique to Myotherapy, they are also experts in:
- Cupping
- Dry Needling
- Use of TENS machines
Myotherapy is used to treat a wide range of complaints including:
- Muscular strains
- Stiffness and pain associated with poor posture
- Chronic overuse syndromes – RSI, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome
- Frozen shoulder
- Sports and occupational injuries
